In the days before NYC Fashion Week, the zkipster team and more than 200 clients, journalists and friends celebrated the launch of our newest application add-on: zFace - Picture Guest List and it was checkin-tastic!
zFace is an add-on that clients can (at the push of a little orange button) use to auto-source photos for the web, quickly and efficiently creating a picture enhanced guest list. A revolutionary technology, zFace will get rid of the all too prevalent trend of Event Identity Theft (EIT). zFace will guarantee that you know and recognize your guests and guarantee that your door is secure. At the launch, we spoke with Syl Tang, CEO of Hipguide, who related her EIT horror story, "I once got to my seat at fashion week and had a woman say to me, "No, I'm Syl Tang." I can't even imagine a more brazen and blatant case of EIT and while we couldn't help Ms. Tang then we can surely help her now by making sure that never happens again!
THE PARTY
We wanted to educate our clients to zFace in the best way possible, so we came up with the event theme "Class in Session," complete with a teacher and his drag queen teaching assistants. To make sure that our clients in attendance were able to fully understand how zFace would change their lives, we had every guest experience the same check in process their own guests go through. Attendees walked up to the door where a zkipster team member checked them using the zkipster app. All were pleasantly surprised to their own faces staring back at them from the screen. Guests then made the move downstairs to the Stardust Lounge at MaisonO.
In the downstairs lounge, there was an abundance of twinkling string lights, mirrored walls and Hello Kitty dolls. Enter through the sparky, pink sequined curtains and you were transported to an underground karaoke club straight off the streets of Tokyo. MaisonO's designer, Serge Becker, has even managed to include a replica of a Tokyo subway car complete with subway seats and hanging straps!Trying to make as much use of the fabulous space as we could, we took the side room designed to look like a Japanese classroom and used it as just that, a classroom. 'Teacher' Sam Kellam (pictured) and 'Teachers Assistant' Bob the Drag Queen (pictured) led small groups through a better understanding of how zFace works, from the back-end and the front.During the event, guests could not only attend class (which was way more fun than it sounds), but also enter for a chance to win a Microsoft Surface Tablet.
We were so proud to announce that zkipster had recently become available in the Windows store and so we thought, "what better way to celebrate than to give away a free zkipster pre-loaded tablets?" All guests had to do was find a 'Z' branded coaster, take a picture with it, hashtag it with #zFace and share. Best picture wins! We asked people to show us their best 'zFace' and they definitely did.All in all, ours was a tale of great music, great drinks, great venue, great people, and an even greater product! Everyone who came, left with a better idea of how zFace could change for they manage their guest lists. Click HERE and HERE to see more pictures from the Launch and like us on facebook. Check out our video recap HERE. zFace - Picture Guest List is set to be released September 1st, 2013.Special thank you to Microsoft, MaisonO, Nadine Johnson & Associates, BULLDOG Gin, Billy Farrell Agency, Serge Becker, Sam Kellam and last, but certainly not least, Bob the Drag Queen.
